SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAMME COMPUTER NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADES

This program is ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) services to the community by sharing ICT knowledge in the development of a community in general with ICT issues and issues in the community. Computer Network Infrastructure Upgrades Program is one of the initiatives to promote UTM students to make welfare work in human capital development and to strengthen the relationship between campus citizens and schools.

Selection of locations at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Mutiara Rini (SKTMR), Johor Bahru was chosen because of the community's need to improve the network infrastructure of the computer to access the internet. This program aims to provide wireless and hotspots in the laboratory computer available at school. In addition, this program is implemented for knowledge sharing in applying existing ICT knowledge to technical skills in cable network installation and installation wifi to school communities. In addition, it apply the concepts and principles of computer networks for the knowledge in the information technology world to create ICT-literate communities and expose knowledge sharing to school children on how to install a computer network cable. The implementation of this program is run for two days on May 4, 2018 and May 5, 2018. On May 4, installation of computer network cables, installation hotspot improvements, plug the cable connected from server to computer using half-moon casing and do the replacement wall plate for both laboratory computers while on May 5th, sharing programs on computer network cabling and installing wireless hotspots to school children. In conclusion, with this partnership program it can foster the spirit of schoolchildren to venture into information technology more deeply and this program can nourish attitudes and interest in ICT knowledge sharing. Students can also apply how to communicate with the community to make the program successful and get the opportunity to develop work skills in the group that demonstrate the skills in the leadership of an organization based solving ICTproblems in the development of community activities.
